Whoo Kid Interviews Brooke Hogan – Jay-Z Diss

“Everybody wants to take shots at the throne” Jay once said. Well now he can add Brooke Hogan to the list of losers that have something slick to say. While on the Whoo Kid show she joins in on the Camel talk. She also says she agrees with Keri Hilson that Beyonce “should sit down and have some babies.” She professes her love for black men. This is entertaining if nothing else.

Jay-Z Doing Oprah?

Oprah Jay-Z3

Apparently Jay-Z has done interview with Oprah for O Magazine. Here are the pictures of the two of them in BK (Shout out to my hometown) in front of Jay-Z’s grandmothers house. They say she even went through Marcy with him. Kevin Liles and Beyonce are in the background, so I think it is safe to say they will be included in the interview.

Shyne Signing to Roc Nation?

Shyne_-_artist_image_6452550
Rumor has it that Former Bad Boy/Def Jam artist Shyne may be signing to RocNation. My theory is that this may have something to do with Shyne’s terms for being released early. If he can show he has something positive waiting on the other side of the wall the judge may grant him an early release. Shyne the son of Dean Barrow, the current Prime Minister of Belize, has been in prison serving eight-and-a-half years of a 10 year sentence for his role in the infamous Club New York shooting on December 27, 1999. He and Diddy were on trial together, but Diddy was acquitted of all charges. Tomorrow is Shyne’s parole hearing in the case. The terms of his release are to be determined at that time.

According to Hiphopdx.com Shyne’s attorney had this to say on his release – “What happened was when they sentenced him [in March of 2001 to ten years] they didn’t sentence him to any parole – post release supervision, which was mandatory. So the Correction Department has asked the court to re-sentence him – under the law they can do that,” explained Shyne’s attorney, Oscar Michelen, to HipHopDX. “And so the judge will decide whether to give him the maximum parole, which is five years, or the minimum parole, which is two-and-a-half years. Shyne will automatically have to do at least a year-and-a-half, which is how much of [the] 10 year [sentence remains]… [Shyne] still owes the balance to the 10. But, [the district attorney] also [has] been looking to add to that [time] as well…”

Illseed/Allhiphop.com – Here are some bits of info for you. Shyne is in N.I.C. (North Infirmary Command). From what I have been told, that is an area for “high profile people, such as celebrities.” The big man Jay-Z allegedly and reportedly went to visit Shyne last Friday. Shyne is with the state and at N.I.C. for his court hearings to see if they will let him out early. This is illy! I wonder! Hey, you know Jigga DOES NOT walk into a jail and not get noticed. I mean, this is all a rumor (wink, wink), but my sources are telling me this is 100% truth. Time will tell.

Jay-Z Pays Tribute To Beastie’s, MJ

The second annual All Points West Music & Arts Festival kicked off Friday at Liberty State Park in Jersey City, NJ, defined for a good part of the day by relentless wind and rain that added a little extra drama to the already newsworthy event. After the Beastie Boys’ Adam “MCA” Yauch announced last week that he would be undergoing treatment for cancer and canceling the band’s current tour plans, including Friday’s headlining spot at All Points West, Jay-Z was hastily added to the bill for the rapper’s U.S. festival debut.

It was with a roar of crowd approval, then, that Jay-Z opened his epic, full-band-supported 28-song set with “No Sleep till Brooklyn,” off the Beasties’ 1986 debut album “Licensed to Ill”. He later dedicated the show to Yauch, saying he hopes for him to “get well soon” and that the Beastie Boys were “pioneers, one of the reasons I’m on this stage.” He also paid tribute to the late Michael Jackson with a montage of photos and videos of a young Jackson along with an interlude recording of the Jackson 5′s “I Want You Back”. “If you take one thing from this concert, it should be that we don’t mourn death, we celebrate life,” Jay-Z said, noting his disapproval that Jackson’s album sales hit record-breaking highs only after his death in June.

Kanye, Jay-Z, And Rihanna To Form Supergroup?

425_west_rihanna_jayz_lc_040809

This comes from mediatakeout.com so take it as gossip. They are saying that Jay, Ye, and Ri are forming a super music group that will release music in 2010. I won’t hold my breath on this one.

There’s a new day coming in the world of hip hop – and it’s coming in the form of a Super Group. MediaTakeOut.com just caught wind of an EXPLOSIVE piece of news. According to an EXTREMELY well placed source Jay Z, Rihanna, and Kanye West are coming together to form a new Super-group.

We’re told that the group, which has yet to be named, will operate as a syndicate. With all three appearing extensively on each other album. And a collaborative album – where all three artists are featured – to be released by mid 2010.

And it’s not just music that the trio’s going to be making together. According to our insider, the three mega-artists will also be going on tour together and are exploring a joint clothing line.

Sounds like just the type of thing that hip hop needs …

Drake Responds To Being Dropped Off Blueprint 3 Single

Drake

Initial reports said that the first single off of Jay-Z’s Blueprint III was supposed to be a song featuring Drake. Instead Jay went with Run This Town Ft. Rihanna/Kanye. The net has been buzzing about why Jay would drop Drake off the single. Well Drake has responding to the buzzing.

“I don’t know who came up with that rumor to be honest, but I always knew what Jay’s first single was going to be. Me and Jay did a lot of work together. Maybe at one point he was considering doing it and someone got over-excited and put out a press release that I was going to be on the first single.” “I think Jay made a great choice,” he says. “I think the ‘Run This Town’ song is phenomenal. I think Kanye kills that s—. I actually heard that song when it was a Rihanna track.” (Global Grind)

Jay-Z Responds To Game “Tell Groupie To Get Over It”

Jay-Z-Westwood

On Chris Brown Being Banned From BET - “First let me categorically deny that, that’s not even my style. If I have a problem with Chris brown, I have a problem with Chris Brown. I haven’t said anything…live or behind the scenes. I don’t agree with what he did and that’s it…
But as far as not letting him perform on BET, that’s ridiculous, that’s stupid and that’s a sucker move. I wouldn’t do it. And people commenting on rumors, that’s a sucker move.”

On The Game – “Tell me exactly what I said….(Tim: you mentioned his name, Jim Jones’ name, Dame Dash’s name…) I said I’m not talking about, this, this. I’m not…Is that a diss? ‘Oh, you hurt my feelings.’ Tell groupie to get over it…If that’s a diss, then wear that. Tell groupie to get over it.”

No Sept. 11 Face Off For 50 And Jay-Z

50

“My album — it’s perfect, I feel,” he explained. “I’m ready. I’m ready to put this album out. I really don’t need adjustments. I need a few songs to be finished, mixed. Dre, he drags his feet. He’s slow, but it’s because he’s so creative. He’s gonna make sure it’s perfect. I’m never mad at it. I understand that process from him. But for me, I kinda go on my gut. Ain’t nobody pick 50 Cent records. ‘Wanksta’ went on its own. They caught up to my records. The only record they launched was ‘In Da Club.’ When we was all on deck and they launched it. Even going back to the last record — ‘I Get Money’ was going at a great pace, then ‘Ayo Technology’ fell on top of it. I had all of the records that sold the Curtis record laying there the whole time. I was just like, ‘I can’t put this out until after I’ve done this.’ My core, if they can’t expect aggressive content or that content that feels like what’s going on for them at the moment from me, then who can they get it from?”

Jay-Z Says D.O.A. Is Kanye’s Fault

jayz

“He actually sparked the idea,” Jay-Z told Billboard.com about the single. “When he heard the beat he said, ‘Man, this is just so hard! This has to be against everything — no auto-tune, none of that type of stuff!’ He didn’t know what I was going to do or where I was going to take it, but it was actually his fault.”

Jay-Z says that the two recorded one track with Auto-Tune previously for “The Blueprint 3,” but once “D.O.A.” came about, they decided to scrap it. “After we made the ‘D.O.A.’ record about a month ago, we were like, ‘if it’s got to go, it’s got to go.’”

As per his criticism of the egregious overuse of the Pro Tools plug-in, Jay-Z says it’s simply part of the hip-hop culture to be out with the old and in with the new. “In hip-hop, our job is once a trend becomes a gimmick, to get rid of it. We’ve done that since the beginning of time,” he explains. “Now people are using Auto-tune even in Wendy’s commercials, and it’s like, ‘Oh no! That’s has to go!’ It’s become part of main culture. It’s the same thing like when the old lady in Oregon starts saying, ‘bling, bling.’ It’s like, ‘I’m never saying that again.’”

“The Blueprint 3″ will be in stores September 11th on Roc Nation/Atlantic Records.

Did Rakim Write Will Smith’s Summertime?

rakim

The net has been buzzing with old/new news. Rakim apparently ghost wrote Summertime for Will Smith. “Here it is a groove, slightly transformed. Just a bit of the break from the norm.” From the opening line it has the signature Rakim flow and wordplay. Jazzy Jeff responded to these rumors via his twitter. “Fyi…Rakim did not write Summertime…I love Rakim to death but that was 100% Big Willy Styles…”

Now a days we see ghost writing as common place in hip hop. Who ever thought Puff wrote a rhyme? As he said “Don’t worry if I write rhymes, I write checks”. Ludacris and T.I. have recently been identified as ghost writers for Dr. Dre. I mean who didn’t know Jay-Z wrote Still Dre? I can still hear B.I.G. spitting the reference track for Queen Bitch for Lil Kim . But back in the late eighties/early nineties to have another MC write your rhymes was taboo to say the least.

No one ever thought of Will Smith as a serious lyricist, but in our minds he always had Summertime.

In other Rakim news

Billboard Reports :”The Seventh Seal,” the long-anticipated album by rap legend Rakim, is slated for release in the fall, Billboard has learned exclusively. The project’s first single, “Holy Are You,” will drop July 28.

Game Needs A Hug

Game responds to Jay-Z for the, well I’ve lost count. Jay-Z is like Superman 2. Everyone is like where is Superman while the villains are wrecking the city. Will Blueprint 3 show that Superman is truly alive?

“I know y’all been hearing about the controversy between with me and Jay-Z, right,” Game asked a crowd in Spain. “So I’ma start it off like this, f*ck Jay-Z! That’s how Pac felt. That’s how Nas felt at one time and that’s how I feel…This ain’t about B/This ain’t about Destiny…You got a bad b*tch, word, ain’t no p*ssy like hers/Just ask the Mavericks, Cowboys and the Spurs/I mean, my b*tch don’t sling p*ssy like that/My b*tch sling p*ssy on a n*gga from the back, back, back/Black Wall Street, that’s the game I bang/And I’m in Mahdrid, Spain…It go one, two, I’m back for more/Guess who’s coming through the motherf*cking door/Spittin’ more sh*t than a Crip/N*ggas know Game back on his sh*t.”

Jay-Z Addressing All Beef Live

Jay-Z got real on this one. I guess he is tired of the buzzing from the peanut gallery.

He spits “I ain’t talking bout gossip, I ain’t talking bout Game, I ain’t talkin bout Jimmy, I ain’t talkin bout Dame. I’m talkin bout real shit. Real people prayin, what yall talkin bout, I don’t know what yall sayin.” “Dame made millions, even Jaz made scratch. Could’ve made more ain’t sign his contract.” “As far street guys we was dealing crack. As far fame goes I don’t owe nobody jack!”

Game Responds Via Twitter

“DO YALL THINK JAY-Z IS DISSIN ME ?,” he wrote. “YALL LISTEN & TELL ME WHAT YALL THINK ?!?!? & THEN WE CAN DECIDE HIS FATE !!! AIGHT SO, AFTER ABOUT 10,000 RESPONSES.. THE RESULTS READ THAT HE AINT DISSIN ME. & AS BAD AS I WANT TO RESPOND TO HIS OLD AZZ, HE CAN SLIDE”

Wow he wants back in. I told you!!! LOL.

The Hottest Mixtape Out Right Now Hands Down

J. cole

There are two are artists I am heavily antisipating. One being Drake, and the other being J. Cole. Cole a North Carolina native is signed to Jay-Z’s new label RocNation. You need to give dude a chance. He produced this whole joint to my understanding. He is somewhat reminiscent of Pac and similar to Lupe. The two stand out joints are Lights Please and I Get Up which we featured on the Hotter Than Most Top Ten.
