Winehouse Is Acquitted

Amy Winehouse was on trial for punching a fan in the eye. She won based on reasonable doubt. They weren’t sure if the fan provoked it.
A judge acquitted Amy Winehouse on Friday of assaulting a fan who asked to take her picture.
District Judge Timothy Workman found the 25-year-old singer not guilty of punching dancer Sherene Flash in the eye after the fan asked to take her picture following a charity ball in September.
Prosecutors claimed it was a deliberate assault. But Winehouse said she had felt intimidated by the drunken Flash – and claimed she was too short to have hit the dancer in the face.
The judge said that after hearing the evidence, he could not be sure the blow had been deliberate.
“The charge is dismissed and the defendant discharged,” he said.
Winehouse, dressed in a knee-length black skirt, gray jacket and white shirt, shrugged as the verdict was announced. She remained in the dock until her lawyer spoke to her, apparently clarifying the verdict.
“I’m relieved. I’m going home,” she said as she left court through a jostling pack of photographers and television cameras.
Tell Em Why You Mad Amy

In this weeks edition of Tell Em Why You Mad Son – We have Amy Winehouse or Amy Civil (as she asked to be addressed in court), at the trial in which she is accused of assulting a fan. Amy’s excuse for whooping ass is that the lady made her nervous or “scared”.
“I was happy to pose for the picture for dancer Sherene Flash last September, but said that when she asked for a minute to see a friend off, Flash refused. “She lent down all over me. She had her face down by me,” Winehouse told City of Westminster magistrates court, London.
In the dressing room area backstage, the singer, 25, said that as she moved her left hand across her face, she pushed her right hand upwards, towards Flash. “She’s there, she’s tall. I wanted her away from me,” she told the court. “I thought: ‘Do I get a choice in this? Hello?’ People are mad, people are rude.”
I will say Sherene Flash should have known how Amy gets down. That is her fault.
Amy Winehouse Back To Life

I am so glad to see Amy getting her life back on track. She has gain some weight and is looking healthier. She is back in the UK and back to work. Salaam Remi laced her with some new music. I am excited.
“She is good. She has been looking after herself,” says a friend. “She did a lot of exercise and she has been eating better. Look at her – she is not what she was.”
While there, life was not all beach romps and relaxation. She aborted a performance at the St. Lucia jazz festival in May and then canceled a slot at the celebration of her record company.
But, tales of her going on alcoholic benders are exaggerated, friends say. “She is Amy Winehouse and has a drink. But she has improved considerably.” The source adds, “She has had to cope with some huge problems, including her marriage of course,” referring to her estranged husband Blake Fielder-Civil starting divorce proceedings earlier this year.
Next up for Winehouse is developing the music that she worked on in St. Lucia with Miami-based producer Salaam Remi. PEOPLE has learned that she is set to meet up with her band to showcase the tracks to them.
