Reports said Reverend Al Sharpton, who has been a spokesperson for the Jackson family in recent days, had a hand in quashing Brown’s appearance (Sharpton told MTV News on Tuesday (June 30) that the rumors have no validity). Although Brown himself has not commented on the reports, a source close to his camp told MTV News that Brown was never confirmed to be a part of the show and the rumors regarding Brown and BET were untrue; a spokesperson for BET corroborated that information, adding that “the rumors are false.” (MTV)

Nas when asked who he is listening to now responded -”[I'm listening to] Drake and always Scarface,” Nas revealed in an interview. “Drake is new. Its Official Jay-Z/RocNation Is Now Sony
Its the home of Beyonce and now the home of her husband Hova. Jay-Z tells Billboard that its official “Sony is Roc Nation. That’s where Roc Nation’s going through”. This deal reunites Hov with Lyor Cohen and Kevin Liles, both of whom he worked with in his prime with Def Jam. The dream team is back minus Dame.
Jay-Z apparently tried to make a similiar deal four years ago – “You have to figure, this is like four years ago, and to them it was just like, ‘Are you crazy? No! Make a song!’” he said. “To me it was like, I’ve sold companies for huge amounts of money. I’m an entrepreneur — that’s what I’ve been all my life. I can’t just sit here and make records and not do anything else. Why wouldn’t you want to do this with me? I felt under-utilized.”
Blueprint 3 is due in stores September 11. The first release from the CD is DOA (Death of Autotune), which Jay premiered the video for after the BET Awards on Sunday.
Vibe Is Going Out Of Business
As magazines are headed in the way of the 8 track (for those of you that know what a eight track is) Vibe seems to be the latest victim of the recession. According to reports on the internet Vibe Magazine will be shutting down. An announcement was to be made today at 2pm. Assistants for Editor in Chief Danyel Smith and publisher Edgar Hernandez confirmed that Vibe Magazine will cease publication according to Hiphopwired.com.

Michael Jackson’s Body Public Viewing Set For Friday
It has just been reported that Michael Jackson’s body will be at Neverland Ranch Friday for a public viewing and memorial. Three of the Jackson brothers had been seen at the ranch yesterday, apparently making the arrangements. The private memorial is set for Sunday. Also the official will has been located according to Jackson family attorney Londell McMillan.

The Williams sisters may play each other in the Wimbledon semi finals as the they both advance. These girls are unstoppable.
SI reports – Venus Williams is just two matches away from her sixth Wimbledon ladies’ singles title. But a familiar obstacle may await the two-time defending champion in Saturday’s final: her sister Serena.
Venus, the No. 3 seed who has played for the Wimbledon championship in seven of the past nine years, won 6-1, 6-2 against Poland’s Agnieszka Radwanska on Tuesday to move into the semifinals, where she’ll face top-seeded Dinara Safina on Thursday.
“I would love it to be a Williams final, and so would she,” Venus told reporters after the match.
“We are definitely the frontrunners in tennis as far as being some of the best players out there,” Venus said. “I just think that the style of game that Serena and I play, that particular style we play better than the other women.”

Michael Jackson made a statement according to Al Sharpton, about James Brown. He said he hoped “James Brown will get the due in death he never got in life”. Well overwelmingly the fans are doing just that for Michael Jackson. Some media outlets are trying taint the memories with negative press, but you can’t drown out the cheers from the fans.
Billboard Reports - Nielsen SoundScan’s sales numbers won’t be released until Wednesday (July 1) morning, but industry prognosticators indicate that three of Jackson’s albums — “Number Ones,” “The Essential Michael Jackson” and “Thriller” — each sold 100,000 copies last week. The sales tracking week ended at the close of business on Sunday (June 28) night.
Other Jackson albums looking to make a big splash on the chart include “Off the Wall, “Bad,” “Dangerous” and his box set “The Ultimate Collection.” Additionally, two Jackson 5 compilations — “The Ultimate Collection” and “20th Century Masters: The Millennium Collection” — are both doing brisk business.

AllHipHop – Doctors have cleared Floyd Mayweather to return to the ring in the fall.
The former pound for pound king has rescheduled his comeback fight against lightweight champ Juan Manuel Marquez for September 19.
“I am relieved to be cleared to fight as I was already looking forward to getting back in the ring,” said Mayweather, who was forced to postpone the July 18 date due to a rib injury. “Trust me, September 19 is a great weekend for boxing, and all of my fans, of which there are many Mexicans too, can certainly hold on to their hats and sombreros when I get back in to the ring and show them what they have been missing these past 18 months. Yes the wait is over. Drake signs to Cash Money. All I can say is we saw this coming. Smart move for Wayne and Baby. Drake better get on his A game. Cash Money only has one successful artist. They did nothing for Mack 10, Lil Moe, Tina Marie or any other post Hot Boys acts. Drake said we could be expect an album by the end of the year.

I was reading the gatecrasher report in the NY Daily News, and it seems Puff got irate when people stop listening to the Man In The Mirror and were talking over the song.
Diddy became irate when party guests at L.A. hot spot MyHouse seemed to be having too much of a good time while celebrating Jacko’s life.
Toward the end of the evening, the rapper abruptly stopped playing a remixed version of “Man in the Mirror” to dedicate a moment of silence to the singer and then told guests like Queen Latifah, Taraji P. Henson, Wesley Snipes and Hill Harper, “While you guys are talking and laughing, you’re not hearing his words. You’re not listening to his words. I need you to hear what he’s saying! Listen to the message that he is telling us.”
He then resumed his lecture while blasting “Mirror” at full volume, shouting over the music, “Michael, I hear your words — I hear what you’re saying!”

New York Post Reports – A rapper once signed by Jay-Z was indicted yesterday on a charge of fatally stabbing a man at Club Pacha in Hell’s Kitchen on June 15. Tru Life (real name Robert Rosado) is being held without bail for allegedly murdering Chris Guerrero, 20, and stabbing Jason Grey, 27, who is in critical condition. The rapper’s brother, Marcus, is being held for allegedly jumping in on the attack.

CNN -Sales of Michael Jackson’s albums have gone through the roof since the news of his death.
On Friday, the late singer was enjoying the commercial revival that had been eluding him in recent years, due to a lack of new material and public interest.
Michael Jackson albums took top 15 slots on Amazon.com top 50 album downloads. The story was the same on iTunes where the late singer’s albums dominated seven out of the ten top slots on the site.The 25th anniversary reissue of Jackson’s 1982 album, “Thriller,” which is the top selling album of all time, is at the top spot on Amazon.com. It was followed by a special reissue of 1979 album “Off the Wall” and 1987 album “Bad.”
His last studio album “Invincible,” which he released in 2001 came in at number 10, perhaps reflecting the public’s preference for Jackson’s earlier work.
BET Awards… HOT!!!
Its been years since I’ve been excited about a BET program let alone awards show. They impressed the hell out of me. Ne-Yo may have made me a fan last night. He sang the hell out of Michael Jackson’s Lady In Life. Jay-Z did a really good job with DOA. Beyonce (though I didn’t really dig the song pick) did a phenomenal job. Other highlights- Old school artists like the O’Jays, New Edition, Guy, Keith Sweat, and BBD put on great performances.
Low point of the night was a dissappointing performance by Drake who rapped his whole song. I really looked for him to come out and show the world who he was. I know he said he tore his acl and that is why he was on a stool. My issue was no one has seen you perform and you don’t even sing a note of your song. LAZY!!! Hope he already signed his deal cause he may find himself losing value already. Lil Wayne and young money gave an innappropriate rendition of Every Girl. As he talked about sexing every girl in the world with young girls on stage. WTF? Who signed off on that? I like Drake and Lil Wayne but nah homies. You may have seen the beginning of the end.
Overall a great show, that was put together in a matter of days. The tributes to Michael made the energy perfect for a night of black love. Get your sh** together Drake!

Funeral Arrangements Are Being Made For Michael Jackson
I must admit this will be a hard funeral to get through. I am sorry I won’t be able to attend. Here is what is being reported on the funeral arrangements.
The Jackson family has officially begun to plan funeral arrangements for the King of Pop, Michael Jackson. Tito Jackson spoke exclusively to TMZ.com and confirmed that the family was together to begin making initial funeral arrangements early Saturday afternoon around 1:30 p.m.
According to Tito, the family is discussing the possibility of a public service in addition to a private one.
